The World LP Gas Association (WLPGA) is the authoritative voice of the global LP Gas industry representing all sectors of the industry. WLPGA’s primary aim is to add value to the sector through driving premium demand for LP Gas, while promoting compliance to good business and safety practices.

It brings together private and public companies involved in one, several, or all activities of the industry, develops partnerships with international organizations and implements projects on local and global scales. WLPGA was established in 1987 and granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 1989.

As the authoritative, global voice for LP Gas, the WLPGA promotes the use of LP Gas globally to foster a cleaner, healthier and more prosperous world. The WLPGA adheres to the following mission:

INDUSTRY COUNCIL

Large member companies initiated the creation of an Industry Council and inaugurated it into the framework
of the WLPGA in 1996. This Council provides a platform for international LP Gas organisations to identify and address issues pertinent to the industry on a global scale. It is also the arena for the development of strategies and to devise and develop global industry projects. Industry Council members’ decisions and actions are the catalyst to increase the worldwide recognition and use of LP Gas. They also make recommendations to the WLPGA Board of Directors.

INDUSTRY NETWORKS
GAIN AND GLOTEC

Key LP Gas industry networks have also been created by the Industry Council and the Board of Directors to focus on important LP Gas segments. One of these networks is the Global Autogas Industry Network (GAIN) that promotes the use of Autogas worldwide.

The second network is the Global Technology Network (GLOTEC) that encourages the exchange of WLPGA members on technology related to LP Gas. These networks are also dedicated to expanding the market, increasing the awareness of LP Gas and promoting use of it. GAIN and GLOTEC networks forge and coordinate relationships with all industry stakeholders.

LP GAS:
AN EXCEPTIONAL ENERGY

For many years, LP Gas has played a valuable role in meeting the world’s energy needs. In the future, LP Gas has the opportunity to enhance this role because of its obvious benefits as an efficient and cleaner fuel as well as its immediate contributions to delivering real greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

Global awareness about rising energy costs, the reliability of energy supplies, health and climate change are encouraging nations to make choices and LP Gas can be the solution in many applications and regions of the world. LP Gas is therefore a healthy fuel option compared to some traditional fuels used in both the developing world, where negative health consequences caused by indoor air pollution is a grave problem, and in the developed world in congested, built-up cities. The World LP Gas Association (WLPGA) demonstrates these clear benefits of LP Gas, a cleaner and modern energy through its activities and interaction with its stakeholders every day.

Throughout the past year, the WLPGA conducted three major studies that demonstrate the three key benefits of LP Gas as a low carbon, efficient and healthy energy source when compared to other fuels in different applications around the world. Please contact the WLPGA should you wish to obtain a copy of these studies.
