BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD LP GAS ASSOCIATION

It is with great pleasure that I am inviting you to attend the World LP Gas Forum – the most significant annual event in the LP Gas industry calendar. It is the ideal platform to facilitate dialogue and exchange on the benefits of LP Gas with all international stakeholders, from opinion leaders, high-level LP Gas industry players, international organizations, governments and other distinguished energy industry decision makers. “Energising the Future” is the theme of the 22nd World LP Gas Forum and I think this demonstrates the growth potential of our modern energy in the future.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank warmly the Brazilian LP Gas Association, SINDIGAS, as well as other members of the National Organizing Committee in Brazil, for their valuable contribution to the organization of this forum in all its facets. We are especially grateful for the contribution of our sponsors from all over the globe for enabling us to offer such a high quality event.

Rio is a strategic city at the heart of Brazil and ranks second nationally in industrial production. The Forum is multi-national and does have a Brazilian flavour as well as being a conference for the whole region. LP Gas has a very important social role in Latin American markets. Approximately 80% of LP Gas demand in Latin America is related to domestic use (cooking and water heating).

The Forum venue in Rio, the Windsor Barra Hotel, is surrounded by beauty and is located in front of the privileged Barra da Tijuca beach. This is Rio´s most modern living complex and community – sophisticated, vibrant and offering innumerable attractions such as fine bars and restaurants serving world class cuisine, shopping malls, theme parks, ecological reserves and sports.

The Forum Conference and Exhibition enables our industry to reach out to international markets and to engage directly with stakeholders on the future of our industry, discuss its growth potential, and forge new business relationships. In addition to our regular two days, the Forum this year will also host a day dedicated to Latin American issues.

The World LP Gas Forum exhibition is the only event worldwide where you can visit a host of key companies from every spectrum of the LP Gas business exhibiting under one roof. This year it promises to be a dynamic exhibition with representation from Brazil and worldwide. We are also expecting many visitors from all over the Americas.

Dynamic speakers and chairmen are lined up for this conference to debate and discuss all pertinent LP Gas topics. Social events have been chosen to enhance network and interaction. For the first time ever, the Welcome Reception will take place within the exhibition, the Members’ Dinner will be at the renowned and elegant Copacabana Palace and the Forum Dinner will take place at the National History Museum in Rio de Janeiro.
